On Thursday, November 7th, 2019 from 11am-3pm

This course will introduce you to the etiology of depression, how it is treated allopathically, and how massage therapists can support that treatment holistically.

In this hands-on class, students will learn to recognize symptoms of depression in their clients, and methods for addressing it. We will discuss how depression manifests, common applicable medications, and how to use massage as an adjunct treatment—including working with essential oils, affirmations, Circulatory Massage, and acupoints to provide a relaxing and healing experience for clients dealing with depression.

This class will provide 4 out of the 8 hours of required in-person, direct supervised massage requirement for the State of Washington.

Please bring the following to class:

  • 1 fitted sheet
  • 1 flat sheet
  • pen and paper for note taking
  • your favorite massage emollient
