Every time JoAnn Kovaly teaches a class about treating pain in a specific area, she always hears “I wish you had a class for the ___ area too!” So that’s what she’s decided to do: offer a series on “Annihilating Pain.” See the full list of classes below.
Part 4: Unwinding Twisted Fascia to Melt Knee Pain
Whether due to heavy physical activity, lack of use, injuries such as sprains or strains, sitting in a constrained area, or sitting on the knees for a prolonged period, knee pain is a common complaint and one that often eludes even the best treatment approaches.
Do knee mobility restrictions stem from the back musculature, the hip extensors, or possibly the quads? Together we’ll explore how the fascial system affects knee mobility and stability, along with simple testing to determine if there are fascial restrictions that are withholding easy, pain free movement. Hands-on practice of effective treatment approaches will give you techniques that are both gentle and immediately relieve your client’s knee pains.
Please Bring the Following to Class:
- 1 set of sheets to be used while you are on the massage table
- Face cradle cover
- Massage emollient
- Paper and pen for note-taking
- Wear clothes you can move easily in
